A UNIQUE ELEGANCE -
URUSHI LACQUER

Urushi lacquer, a craft of traditional Japan, is used to give the Presage watch dials a remarkable lusturous feel. The quality demanded by Seiko is at an unbelievably high level, and it takes about two and a half months to produce each Urushi lacquer dial.

THE UNFADING BEAUTY - ENAMEL

Every watch dial is unique, as no two enamel dials are the same. The smoothness, the lustrous feel, and the eye-catchingly beautiful whiteness of the finished product enter the realm of art. These qualities do not change over time, so the beauty of an enamel dial is forever.

TECHNOLOGY

DIASHOCK

Diashock is a shock-resistance device. A device created by Seiko to protect the balance wheel from shock and vibration. The jewel anchoring the balance staff is attached to a hairspring, and when the balance staff is subjected to a strong shock, the elasticity of that hairspring absorbs it.

SPRON

Spron mainspring and hairspring alloys are exclusive to Seiko watches. Spron features superior elasticity, strength, and corrosion and heat resistance. The high performance characteristics of the Spron family of alloys have led to its use in a wide range of fields from electronics to medicine.

MAGIC LEVER

Invented by Seiko in 1959, the Magic Lever allows all the energy generated by the oscillating weight’s motion to be transferred to the main spring. It is effective, simple and durable and contributes significantly to the longevity of the watch.

AN UNCONVENTIONAL DIAL

A power reserve indicator in the center of the dial, as well as a date indication at the 6 o’clock position.

PERFECT SYNCHRONISATION

The calibre 8R48, Automatic Chronograph has 311 components including the vertical clutch that is at the heart of all true chronographs, the column wheel that provides superior durability and operability, and the “three-pointed hammer” which is Seiko’s own stopwatch return-to-zero mechanism.
