Original model
This solar chronograph watches inherits the iconic designs and styles of the Speedtimer series from the 1960s-70s.
All watches are powered by Seiko’s solar Caliber V192, which has a 60-minute chronograph, a 24-hour sub-dial, and features a power reserveindicator that is displayed at the touch of a button.
Dial
The dial is applied sandblast finishing which ensure high levels of readability and legibility crucial to a Prospex sports watch.
Design
The case shape is faithful to the original but its 39mm diameter, the combination of hairline and smooth polishing on the bracelet and the curved sapphire glass bring it right up to date.
Bezel & Dial
The distinctive coloring of the aluminum bezel and hands on the dial inherits the iconic designs of the original Speedtimer creations. The combination of colors gives the new watches a definite presence on the wrist.
Index
The seconds markers are located on the inner bezel ring so that the indexes can be large and highly visible, giving the watche a powerful and sports feel.
The hour and minute hands and all twelve indexes are coated with Lumibrite so that the time of day can be read even in low light conditions.

Dial
The stopwatch display has independent sub-dials for each unit of measurement to enhance legibility while providing a distinctive design.
The chronograph hands are colored in contrast to the hue of the sub-dials to further ensure high legibility.
Case
Pushers are specially designed to ensure the high operability for which the original sportwatches used in the 1960s were renowned.

In addition to celebrating the anniversary of the 1983 model, this watch features dial and hand colors that pay respect to the first analog quartz chronograph to measure elapsed time in increments of 1/100th of a second, introduced by Seiko nine years later in 1992.
