50 YEARS OF DIVING HERITAGE
IT ALL BEGAN WITH A LETTER
Everything started with a letter from a professional diver in the Hiroshima prefecture of Japan. The diver explained that in depths greater than 300 m - when using a diving capsule and saturation diving techniques - most watches get damaged. In response to this request, Seiko established a new development team. After years of research development, the world’s first Professional Diver’s 600 m with titanium case was created.
GPS® SOLAR
By connecting to the GPS network, the new Astron adjusts at the touch of a button to your time zone*. And, by taking all the energy it needs from light alone, never needs a battery change.
CERTIFIED BY THE DIVING COMMUNITY
With half a century of history and remarkable innovation, Seiko’s diver’s watch has been used all over the world in diverse situations. Over the years, the timepiece has proven itself worthy of any harsh environment and has garnered acclaim from professional divers. Seiko is also the official watch partner of PADI. To celebrate and promote this partnership, Seiko has created a special PADI diver’s watch with the PADI logo on the dial, and with the red and blue PADI colours on the case.
QUARTZ
The Seiko Quartz Astron, released December 25, 1969, was a wristwatch that changed the world. With 100 times the accuracy of a standard mechanical watch, it was the watch that democratised the quartz movement that would eventually bring accuracy within everyone’s.
Four decades on, in 2012, a new watch bearing the Astron name went beyond high accuracy, to make ultra-high accuracy across time zones an everyday reality.
Prospex owes its origin to the blissful depths of the oceans. To honour its origin, Seiko launched the Prospex Save the Ocean Collection - a 2018 project aimed at the preservation of the Earth's maritime environment. A portion of the sales was donated to the Fabien Cousteau Ocean Learning Centre - an institution aimed at making a direct and positive contribution towards the health of our planet's oceans.
Bold in design and complete in functionality, the Land series from Prospex features watches that are ideal for breathtaking adventures.
