A new Presage creation celebrates Seiko’s 145th anniversary with a cobalt blue-coloured Arita porcelain dial.
In the second series of commemorative limited-edition watches celebrating Seiko’s 145th anniversary, a blue accent inspired by “Seiko Blue” is used. Established in the 1960s and refined over time, Seiko Blue continues to embody the Seiko brand identity.
The new timepiece is distinguished by an Arita porcelain dial with a cobalt blue–colored glaze. This hue, traditional in Arita ware, is presented for the first time in a Presage creation.
The radiating pattern at the center of the dial accentuates the delicate tonal gradations created by the cobalt blue glaze. To fully express the glaze’s transparency and depth, the interplay of raised and recessed surfaces was meticulously refined.
The timepiece features a newly developed case design that enhances the depth and dimensionality of the Arita porcelain dial, capturing the understated elegance of the Seiko Presage Classic Series. Paired with a dual-curved sapphire crystal, the watch achieves a clean and refined profile, along with a strap made with leather sourced from Leather Working Group-certified tanneries.*
Under the supervision of Arita porcelain master craftsman Hiroyuki Hashiguchi, each dial is meticulously crafted by Toshiaki Kawaguchi and his team at a historic Arita manufacturer with roots dating back to 1830. Kawaguchi honed his expertise in this incredibly intricate process under Hashiguchi’s guidance.
